When did you first become interested in conservation?

Conservation was a value taught to me by my parents from a very young age. Growing up in Hawaii, I spent most of my childhood outside and my family donated to local conservation organizations annually, which taught me the value and importance of protecting our natural spaces. At university I became motivated to personally take action and co-founded the UCLA Club Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, an organization whose mission is to protect oceans and beaches in the United States. Whether I am in the mountains or ocean, nature is where I feel most alive and I want to protect these spaces for the species who call them home as well as for humanity’s future generations.

What are some of your favourite things about working at Wildchain?

Wildchain team is a community of like-minded, positive people who want to make change in the world by doing what they’re good at. I love that each person uses their specific skills to contribute to the whole. I found that each team member is incredibly supportive of the projects I have pursued and have always welcomed questions and collaboration!

Any special memories from your time at Wildchain?

My last virtual team meeting with Wildchain over Zoom was really special. The entire team was together for one the first time since mandated self-isolation ended in Bangkok and I was calling in from Hawaii. There was great energy and enthusiasm for the future that I will never forget!
